Welcome to Sydfyn Embrace

Encuentro Sydfyn Embrace is born from a simple wish: to bring people together and create a sense of warm heartfelt connection. It comes to life through you, the DJs, our team, and us – Trine and Morten – all contributing to the warm and familiar atmosphere that we feel defines the event.

Sydfyn Embrace is for those who feel at home in the world of Encuentros, in the close embrace of social dancing.

The next edition of Sydfyn Embrace will be held from June 4 to June 7, 2026.

About the event

• The event welcomes around 110 tango souls. 
• It is held in early June each year. 
• Registration always opens on January 8th at 12:00 (UTC+1). 
• Sydfyn Embrace unfolds in a beautifully renovated barn called Stakladen, located near the town of Svendborg in Denmark.

Who we are

We have a saying: "We are tango." To us, this means that it's not the beautiful halls, the exotic setting, the abundance of food, or the photos shared on social media that make the event – it's what we do together. It's the people, the shared experience, the way we connect and care for each other during the Encuentro.

Social Dancing
We expect all participants to be comfortable dancing in close embrace and to be familiar with the social dancer codes of tango. At Encuentros, you're not just here to dance with friends – you're invited to connect, dance, and talk with everyone who is present.

Music
We care deeply about the music. We select DJs who understand the orchestras, the tandas, and how to build the musical journey. We aim for the best sound quality possible. When we feel the "flavor" of the music is right, we don't change DJs from event to event.

Participants

We pre-invite a portion of the dancers – sometimes up to 50% of the participants. The rest is selected through open registration. For each event, we carefully put together a group of dancers who we believe are both skilled and socially engaged, based on those who accept our invitations or register.
